
Clemson Spineless Okra (Organic)
Historically, Okra is native to Africa and is said to have been introduced to the Americas through the Trans-Atlantic Slave trade. Since the introduction of Okra to the Americas, several unique varieties have been developed. Varieties such as the Clemson Spineless Okra are among the most popular. This variety was introduced by Clemson University and was an All-America Selections Winner in 1939. Okra is commonly used in soups and stews, but it can also be grilled, sauteed, and steamed. Clemson Spineless okra germinates best if sown 2" apart outdoors when soil reaches about 70 degrees F. It is not cold hardy but it is drought resistant. For best results allow 8 to 12 hours of sunlight and pick regularly for higher yields. Approx. 50 to 64 days to maturity.
